Frequently Asked Questions

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device?

Open the app, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchase." Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase. Your Pro access will be restored instantly.

The sound stops when I lock my phone. How do I fix this?

Go to Settings in the app and make sure "Background Audio" is turned on. The app needs this permission to continue playing when the screen is locked. If it still stops, check that no other app (like a meditation or music app) is taking over the audio session.

Which sound should I start with?

If your tinnitus is high-pitched (ringing, whistling), start with white noise or pink noise. If it is low-pitched (humming, droning), try brown noise or fan sounds. Not sure? Pink noise is a good all-rounder. The app will recommend sounds based on your tinnitus type during onboarding.

How loud should I play the sounds?

Play the sound at the lowest volume that makes your tinnitus less noticeable — you should still be able to hear your tinnitus faintly beneath the masking sound. For sleep, keep it at a comfortable level (around 40–50 dB). Avoid playing at high volumes for extended periods.

Can I get a refund?

All purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Tinnitus Sounds purchase, and follow the refund steps. We cannot process refunds directly.

Is Tinnitus Sounds a medical device?

No. Tinnitus Sounds is a wellness app that provides sound masking for tinnitus relief. It does not treat, cure, or diagnose tinnitus or any other medical condition. If you have concerns about your tinnitus, consult a qualified healthcare provider.
